The EeStairs Design competition has been created to shine a light on the very best young designers in the world and celebrate the evolution of architecture, interior and product design. No longer is staircase design simply about function, it has progressed into the creation of groundbreaking designs, use of innovative materials and environments capable of encouraging users to engage with their surroundings.
With this in mind the EeStairs Design Competition invited entrants to trace the evolution of design by creating staircases and balustrades that will help tell a story and orchestrate a wonderful journey between the spaces that they connect, or even separate. EeStairs is passionate about pushing the boundaries of what is possible and is looking for creations that reflect this.

Enhance the function of the staircase in a corporate environment
The EeStairs Design Competition challenges entrants in the Corporate Staircase category to bring an inspirational approach and add functionality to a very functional and all too often overlooked object. What additional context can a staircase have in a corporate environment? And what would this look like? In short: trace the evolution of the function and shape of the staircase!
Explore and transform the design of the vertical balustrade into an exciting repetition
The EeStairs Design Competition challenges entrants in the Repeatable Balustrade Design category to develop a revolutionary, yet affordable balustrade that can be adapted to suit a range of situations. Designers must transform a simple metal strip (50x5mm) into a quirky, distinctive and also repeatable balustrade design. Think outside the box to create a balustrade that reflects the evolution of the balustrade as we know it.
