EeStairs + Van de Poel Architecten BV BNA + Caroline Molenaar Architect

When Van de Poel Architecten designed the new energy-neutral headquarters and manufacturing plant of AWL, a leading international manufacturer of high tech machinery and components, the most striking internal element was a four storey atrium. And this required three long flights of two-stage stairs.

The machinery that AWL makes supports precision manufacturing and construction – which meant that interiors of the headquarters had to convey an equally strong sense of accuracy. Caroline Molenaar, who was one of EeStairs first clients many years ago, produced an interior design scheme for AWL that was suitably crisp and minimalist.

EeStairs design support team, and our own installers, worked closely with the architects and Caroline Molenaar to develop staircase design details that were equally sharp. And as you can see from the linear and perspectival accuracy of the glass balustrades, handrails, treads and stringers, the outcome is graphically precise.
