Lacoste Flagship Store

French clothing company Lacoste has refurbished its flagship store on London's Regent Street. The new scheme includes a bespoke feature staircase supplied and fitted by EeStairs. The stair combines cast concrete treads and risers with glass balustrade and timber handrail to great effect; inviting shoppers to explore the offerings on the upper level.

Working to a tight schedule, EeStairs delivered large precast concrete parts to site. With Regent Street being one of London's busiest areas for shoppers and tourists the 1.5 tonne concrete components were delivered and installed during the night when the pavements were quiet.

The staircase's slim profile dictated that a high performance concrete be specified by EeStairs to ensure structural performance. The resultant stair, whilst of significant size, has an aesthetic lightness brought about by the absence of supporting steelwork and a focus on balance and proportion in the design stage. With intelligent design and modern production techniques there are few limits to what can be achieved!
