A sweeping feature staircase for Aegon

The gentle rise of this sweeping helical staircase, installed in the restaurant at the Aegon Group building, Den Haag (NL), is a perfect balance between architectural attention to detail and interior design excellence, and is just one of five created by EeStairs. The striking design of this staircase has resulted in it being voted the winner of the Staircase of the Year election.

Constructed with stone treads and EeStairs’ signature TransParancyÒ glass balustrades, the profile of the riser creates symmetry between the staircase and the round shape of the restaurant. Furniture has been placed around the staircase in the restaurant highlighting this exceptional centerpiece.

During the design phase EeStairs went to great lengths to bring the project in on budget, without compromising on style. By taking the initiative to visualise what the staircase should be, EeStairs found solutions to keep the cost down – this extra effort was appreciated by everyone involved in the project. Working closely with the architect and staircase designer EeStairs was able to offer a design solution which brought to life the architect’s vision, whilst delivering on price.

EeStairs provides clients with support throughout the entire process and has a dedicated team of expert installers who were able to manoeuvre the five tonne staircase across a computer floor before finally installing it.

The end result is a helical staircase that blends natural stone risers with ergonomic glass balustrades, whilst enhancing the building’s architecture.
