In Friedland, Paris, DGM & Associés transformed an existing building with a sequence of three helical staircases rising from ground floor to third floor. The stair is both circulation and spatial theatre, set within openings of 3,810mm diameter and a total rise of 9,500mm.

The principal challenge was to maintain a continuous, clean geometry while integrating structure, glass, lighting and soffit within a tight helical form. EeStairs resolved this with a solid inner steel balustrade and stringer carrying the extra-clear laminated glass balustrade, while oak treads were grooved beneath each nosing to conceal LED strips and produce a soft, measured glow.

The white EeSoffit, installed flush beneath the stringers and balustrades, gives the underside its seamless sculptural calm. Brushed stainless-steel handrails and brackets add durable precision, while the oak treads and matching bench bring warmth to the entrance. The result is a disciplined piece of craftsmanship: technically exact, materially refined, and quietly luminous.
